Jeff Barczewski speaking at STLJS October 17, 2013 - HAPI Node.js web framework
I will be speaking at the October 17, 2013 STLJS user group meeting at 7pm (social time 6:30).
Location: The Able Few, 333 North Beaumont, Saint Louis, MO map
I will present Hapi – Node.js Framework for Apps and Services:
HAPI Node.js web framework
Hapi is an open source Node.js web framework originally developed by Walmart Labs.
- Why did Walmart labs build the Hapi web framework after trying to build first on Express and then Director?
- How is Hapi different from the other Node.js web frameworks?
- Why has Jeff switched from being an avid Strata web framework supporter to Hapi?
Jeff will answer these intriguing questions and will take you on a tour of this rich new framework using real code examples and demonstrations as the guides. The simplicity and elegance of the Hapi API are inspiring, and will provide you with ideas for your own projects.
Starting about 8:15pm, we’ll move into a hacking session to experiment with the material that’s been presented, and with JavaScript and node.js in general.
Complementary sodas and sandwiches will be provided, and you’re welcome to BYOB, so come hungry, come thirsty, bring your laptop and be ready to code!
